We all begin our journey as mothers with the desire to do it well.  But first we have to figure out what it is we’re supposed to be doing. Women throughout history have benefited from the support, sharing and companionship of one another.  They’ve learned through observation of their own and one another’s infants. They’ve shared real experiences and the resources they’ve found valuable. What Are Groups Like? They meet weekly in the afternoons in Santa Monica. There are about 10 – 12 mothers attending with babies all within a few months of age. In each class we observe the babies’ development and changing behaviors. We discuss topics including:  the development of basic rhythms and regulation in sleep, feeding and play parent / infant attachment current cognitive, motor and emotional/social development concepts of neuroscience which illuminate child development and parenting physical and emotional adjustment of new mothers returning to work and child care parenting with a partner managing mounds of “parenting advice” and building one’s own wisdom finding balance in daily life Mothers commit to a monthly membership of four sessions. The membership fee is $140 per cycle. This is payable regardless of attendance. Cycles continue until the children are about 1 ½ years.  Check Schedule or contact Tandy for dates
